How to hack your Avatar's skin and hair

WARNING:

This is VERY obviously a Mod, and if any member of the Xbox Live Staff see it, or even if you get reported for swearing too much, your chances of being banned are VERY HIGH. You also face the risk of enduring endless "OMG H4XOR" messages from small minded members of the Xbox Live Community. If you are still reading this you have probably don't think you will be banned, or you simply don't care. Either way, let's continue.


You Will Need:

• Your Xbox 360 Profile (and a backup)
• A Hex Editor (My preference is HxD)
• Around 5 minutes of spare time

Let's get started:

1. Open up your profile in your Hex Editor
2. Press Ctrl + F and search for "C1 C8 F1" (hex values)
3. You will see a large section of "00" followed by a single "FF". The 6 characters after the "FF" are the codes for your SKIN tone.
4. Head on over to ColourPicker and select the colour you want as your skin tone, changing the values in your profile as appropriate. If you want your Avatar to stand out, give it a nice Hulk colour (37 ED 05).
5. The value for your HAIR is found after the following "FF", yet again it is a 6 character block and can be changed the exact same way as the skin was.
6. Save your profile and drop it into Modio
7. Hit "Rehash and Resign" then close everything down
8. Drop your profile back into it's original folder in Xplorer360 and boot up your Xbox 360 console.

Tips:

• Make sure you change an item of clothes on your Avatar and save it so the Xbox Server is updated with your new skin - DON'T CHANGE YOUR SKIN for obvious reasons. This ensures that you're friends can see your new Avatar.
• Feel like going Ninja? Make your Avatar invisible be pasting the following 12 blocks before your "C1 C8 F1" into your profile so that it looks like this:

FF FF 00 00 00 10 00 00 03 1F 00 03 C1 C8 F1

 

How to get a NEW Xbox 360 for FREE (even if banned)

Let's get started:

1. Start off by dialing 1800-4-MYXBOX (18004699269)

2.You will be greeted by a message about banned users (ignore it)

3.Next you want to work your way to repairs and say "Agent" to get a representative on the line.

4.If they will ask you questions (name,location,etc..) ANSWER ALL TRUTHFULLY

5. BUT (if they ask you trouble shooting questions just say you did them all) tell them the console is still displaying e74 on your TV in white letters (with black background and that the console has one red light at the bottom right).

6.If they ask you to use Xbox.com to do the repair, say it doesn't work for you.

7. If done correctly, the agent will ask you to write a reference number down, after telling you that they will send a shipping box to your address and whatever.

8.(Keep in mind, shipping and everything is covered by MS) you should receive your shipping box at your doorstep within 7-9 business days.

9. When packing Xbox in box, be sure to send JUST THE XBOX WITH NO HDD OR CABLES OR YOU WILL NOT GET THEM BACK!

10. Send shipping box to your local UPS or (whatever shipping company delivered to you) and your new console will be returned as fast as shipping takes (1 month absolute MAX, usually 1 week)





The reason why this works, is because E74 is a hardware failure (Thus Microsoft's fault entirely covered out of warranty).

If your Agent if giving you a hard time, just hang up and re-register your xbox saying you bought it from pre-owned from Game or something.

Proof!!! (Notice the warrenty has been extended by a year)

Back to Basics - Gamesaving

Gamesaving is arguably not modding, it is simply using another person's saved game to gain achievements or trophies. There are many places to download game saves - example - and once you know how to do it, you can complete the process in minutes.

You will need:

• An Xbox 360 Hard Drive or Memory Unit
• A cable connected your storage device to your computer*
• Xplorer360 - the program you shall use to access your storage device
• Modio - Lets you Rehash and Resign your saves(more on that later)
• About 10 minutes of free time

* For Hard Drive users, get THIS. Memory Unit users can grab THIS

Let's get started:

1. Disconnect your storage device from the Xbox 360, and connect it to your cable (and into your pc)
2. Open Xplorer360 - Drive - Open - Hardrive or Memcard
3. For Hard Driver users, open Partition 3. Memory Card users can open Partition 1
4. A whole bunch of files will appear, located your profile (looks like Exxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) and open up any of those folders inside
5. Drag the file at the end of the folder onto your desktop and make a backup - just in case
6. Open up Modio and drag your file in. Click the "Save ID Set" button.
7. Download a gamesave you want, and drag it into Modio
8. Click "Load ID Set" and the numbers and letters should change into your ones.
9. Hit "Rehash and Resign", close Modio, and drag that file into where the first file came from in step 5#
10. Disconnect your device when it finishes transferring, connect it to your Xbox 360 and enjoy!

Tips

• Download saves related to "load and pop" - these will give you instant achievements just by loading up the save!
• Don't gamesave too often for risk of being caught by Microsoft and getting your account banned.  

Use Laptop as Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter

For Windows Users

1. Connect your Ethernet Cable to your Computer and Xbox

2. Hit start

3. Run

4. Type "ncpa.cpl"

5. Hit OK

3. Highlight both the wireless connection, and the ethernet (wired) connection, and select "bridge connections".

4 Now go test your connection *Laptop must be on*

For Mac Users

1. Open up system preferences and go to Network.

2. Make sure location is set to "Automatic" and show is set to "Built-in Ethernet."

3. Now where is says "Configure IPv4," select Manually.

4. Enter in 10.0.0.1 as the IP Address.

5. Enter in 255.255.255.0 as your Subnet Mask.

Your router will have an IP Address, and it is usually 192.168.1.1, check on the bottom of the router to make sure. There should also be a username and password down there too, remember these things. Now go to your internet browser and enter in your router's IP Address in the navigation bar, it will ask you to give a username and password, does this sound familiar? Once you do that, you should go to "Status" on this web page and write down what your IP Address is. Every single one is unique.

1. Go back to System Preferences now and click on "Sharing."

2. Click on the "Internet" tab.

3. Make sure that on the drop down menu Airport is selected.

4. Click on the box next to "Built-in Ethernet" and hit "Start" at the top.

5. Go ahead and connect your Mac to your XBOX via the ethernet cable.

6. Go to the "System" blade on your dashboard.

7. Go down to "Network Settings."

8. Now select "Edit Settings."

9. Select your IP settings and choose "Manual."

10. Now enter 10.0.0.2 as your IP Address, 255.255.255.0 as your Subnet Mask, and 10.0.0.1 as your Gateway and hit done.

6. Go ahead and test it right now, it will fail.

7. Now go back to edit network settings and select your DNS settings this time and once again choose "Manual."

8. Enter in the IP Address that is on the bottom of your router as your Primary DNS Server (mine would be 192.168.1.1).

9. Now get out that IP address that you obtained earlier from your router and enter it in as your Secondary DNS Server.

10. Select done and test your connection.

How to build a Lag Switch

The Lag Switch is probably one of the most useful tools I have come across as it enables you to freeze all other players in the game. This makes FPS incredible fun but there are 2 drawbacks. You have to be the host of the game, and you will have to deal with the endless hordes of angry gamers who will pepper you in a rainbow of curses.

You will need:

• An Gold Xbox Live Account (obviously)
• An Ethernet cable + spare (wired connection) which you can pick up almost everywhere very cheap
• Wire Strippers / Scissors
• Steady Hands
• Some form of a switch e.g. Light Switch, Pedal etc

Let's get started:

1. Take a pair of wire strippers/scissors and CAREFULLY make an incission in the plastic covering of the ethernet wire, roughly where you want the switch to go.
2. Locate and cut the SOLID GREEN wire. If there's no green wire - cut the orange one.
3. Secure the cut wire to either ends of your switch and secure in place.
4. Connect your finished lag switch into your xbox 360 and your router/modem, load up a game (I find Call of Duty 5 works excellent with this) and try it out.

Getting Host

1. Get a good internet connection - always helpful
2. Host a party of friends and search for a small game. You can also help your friends with the lag switch.
3. Run speedtest.net in 4+ tabs in your internet browser. This lags your connection and helps you pull host
4. Flick your lag switch on and off while searching for a game.
